Aundeck Omni Kaning Science Camp 2006
The annual science camp program is held during the summer months for elementary students. The program focuses on science and technology, Anishnaabe culture, health and recreation.
This year the participants of the First Nation Inuit Youth Work Experience Program were given the task of planning, organizing and hosting this year's science camp program. The program incorporated team building activities, crafts, sport activities, healthy eating, bicycle safety, 911 calling procedures and the facts on drugs & alcohol.
In addition to the activities held in Aundeck Omni Kaning, the program included a special presentation by the UCCM Tribal Police Services and a visit to Science North in Sudbury. The science camp was held over a three-week period with approximately 15 to 20 youth participating. The 2006 Science Camp Program concluded with a fun day of activities and a barbeque.
